A CUDDLE WITH KAZA
Secluded serenity, quietude abounds, landscapes singing thousand tunes, a million calls from mountains amidst which graciously generous buddhist friars surrounded me. I was in Kaza. The moment I was there, I fell amorously in love with every element of Kaza. Albeit Kaza was not the first of the places I visited, it was indeed the place I can recollect the most of my Spiti Valley Travel. Here it is, the first chapter of the Spiti Travelogue.
Even before I focused my camera to explore the beautiful landscape, someone else grabbed my attention to detail. They were the kids of the Kaza Valley. I would rather summarize that they are the ones who form the present and future people of Kaza. With throttled education services and food supplies for only half the year, kids here entice life with what nature has gifted them with.
Eat. Play. Love. That pretty much summarizes what kids do for their whole childhood days. Its enormous joy to watch these kids who envisage Kaza as the one and only world in their entire lifetime, but for any other place they can never find such a beauty.
People at Kaza live a unique work and dormant life in a year. With 6 months of full time work and 6 months of no work at all, work life gets disturbed every now and then with road blocks and land slides. Farming culture forms the core work region of the majority. Apart from which people work as Travel guides and few set up small hotel systems. Kaza houses one of the biggest Market places in the valley. People from nearby towns gather up there with their farm produce for sales.
Although varied feelings run in their heart, warm gestures, kind and gentle responses for every next human being mark the characteristics of a Kaza person.

Newly constructed at the center of the town, this Monastery is built with unique interior architecture. Fact file refers that this has been funded completely by the richest person of the Kaza town. The Monastery is highly rich in its artistry, architecture and religious artifacts. Prayers offered by the friars brings in religious harmony that prevails in every corner of the main hall. With religious daily activities starting at 5 am and prayers offered till 9 am, the Monastery is open from 10 am for visitors. One friar attends to every visitor and offers services like a complete guide to the Monastery. Before you leave the place, accepting the generous prasad, Monastery main hall settles into your mind and heart in an unique place.
